Winter and Spring and Engine Services
Winterization Includes:
- Stabilize fuel system
- Change fuel filter(s)
- Bag prop & gear case housing
- Change engine oil & filter and check for contaminants (4 stroke only)
- Change gear oil and check for contaminants
- Fog cylinders
- Grease all fittings
- Grease propeller shaft
- Inspect prop & shaft for damage
- Run to operating temperature on winter mix & fresh water
- Spray engine with preservative
- Inspect steering system
- Grease steering tube
- Inspect outboard fuel system
- Inspect control cables
- Disconnect battery cables
- Remove bilge plug(s)
- Courtesy boat inspection
Spring Commissioning Includes:
- Top off gear oil, engine oil & trim fluid
- Start up and run to operating temperature, check for overheating
- Check for tell tale stream, clean out if needed
- Inspect fuel hoses & fittings
- Check for fuel and water leaks on engine
- Change spark plugs, inspect spark plug leads
- Inspect anodes and replace as needed
- Grease all fittings on engine
- Test charging system; inspect control cables
