Description of winter and spring and engine Services

WINTERIZATION INCLUDES:
  • Stabilize fuel system
  • Change fuel filter(s)
  • Bag prop & gear case housing
  • Change engine oil & filter and check for contaminants (4 stroke only)
  • Change gear oil and check for contaminants
  • Fog cylinders
  • Grease all fittings
  • Grease propeller shaft
  • Inspect prop & shaft for damage
  • Run to operating temperature on winter mix & fresh water
  • Spray engine with preservative
  • Inspect steering system
  • Grease steering tube
  • Inspect outboard fuel system
  • Inspect control cables
  • Disconnect battery cables
  • Remove bilge plug(s)
  • Courtesy boat inspection
SPRING COMMISSIONING INCLUDES:
  • Top off gear oil, engine oil & trim fluid
  • Start up and run to operating temperature, check for overheating
  • Check for tell tale stream, clean out if needed
  • Inspect fuel hoses & fittings
  • Check for fuel and water leaks on engine
  • Change spark plugs, inspect spark plug leads
  • Inspect anodes and replace as needed
  • Grease all fittings on engine
  • Test charging system; inspect control cables
